Top Fuel Drags at Eastern Creek Dragway 7th May 2022.

For something different (and an adrenaline rush) I headed out to the Top Fuel drags at Eastern Creek Dragway. A sunny, but cold day there was nitros in the air along with the smell of donuts, hotdogs and burning rubber. The most remarkable (and it really shouldn’t have been) sight was to see the number of women in the teams of the top echelon of motorsports. Every team had a girl on the tools. Getting her hands dirty. A respected member of the team. It made me proud to think that my time on a pit crew for a speedway team many moons ago many have helped in some tiny way to pave the way for these women. And if not, well it was still bloody awesome to see women so deeply involved in the teams.
