Bombo Quarry Sunrise 2nd April 2022

With a weather warning out for dangerous and destructive swells, what else do you do but go with a crew to a location you’ve never been before. In the pitch black pre dawn, the smell of salt water and the roar of the waves crashing against the basalt columns the only giveaway - you’ve finally made it to Bombo Quarry! Those who had been there before were amazed saying they had never seen it like this. Great! Im spoiled my first time there! To say it was overwhelming is an understatement. The pictures while dont quite do the sheer power of the swells justice, you get a good idea of it. I acknowledge the traditional owners of this land - the Dharawal people.
